学习太平间科学的学生在国家和州层面的能力的各个阶段进行评估。 First, in order to become an apprentice, a requirement for graduation, students must take their American Board of Funeral Service Education’s (ABFSE) National Board Exams. 在成功完成艺术和科学部分后，学员将获得为期一年的带薪学徒期。 认可的殡葬科学/葬礼服务项目的毕业生必须通过他们的国家特定的委员会考试，才能在该领域获得正式许可。
