An embalmer prepares bodies of the deceased for funeral services, burials, and cremations. A mix of art and science, the act of embalming must be administered for legal, medical, and personal purposes.
An embalmer removes the blood of the deceased and replaces it with preserving agents like embalming fluid and gasses. Dependent on the state of the deceased, an embalmer may also perform complex restorative applications to disguise any damage done while the departed was alive. Case specific on family wishes and requests, an embalmer may also apply makeup and style the hair of the deceased to provide a natural and peaceful appearance.
