What does a welder do?
A welder fabricates and sculpts materials, typically metals, by hammering, compressing, and using high heat to permanently melt two parts into one and then allowing the material to cool through a process called fusion. Welding can be done in open air, under water, and even in outer space. Adhering to safety standards is important in the welding profession.
An industrial process vital to our economy, welders create anything from sculpting artwork to city skyscrapers. From kitchen appliances to cars and cruise ship, there is no task too small or too big for a welder.
